Wrestlemania Backlash kicked off at exactly 7pm ET inside the WWE thunderdome at USF’s Yuengling Centre in Tampa Florida.
Tonight’s pay-per-view event is embedded with anticipating and compelling matches that is accompanied with suspense.
The main match cards for the 2021 WrestleMania Backlash are Title Matches. A single non-title match is also involved in tonight’s pay-per-view event and it is a lumberjack match.
The following are the matches that will take place in tonight’s Wrestlemania Backlash pay-per-view event:
- Bobby Lashley vs. Drew MycIntyre vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Championship
- Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro for the Universal Championship
- Bianca Belair vs. Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
- Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship
- Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode vs. Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
- The Miz vs. Damian Priest (Lumberjack Match)
Triple Threat Match- Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship.
The Raw Women’s Championship match was the first Title match for tonight’s WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view event. There is no disqualification or count-out and the only way to win is by submission or pinfall.
Charlotte ran out of the ring when the match started but Asuka went after her and the whole brawl starts in the ring. Asuka shoved Charlotte out of the ring and she continued to clash with Ripley in the ring. Charlotte dragged Asuka out of the ring and hit her with a suplex then she got back into the ring and started inflicting painful punishment on Ripley.
The match continued and Charlotte is in charge, she took Asuka into the ring and unleashed severe punishment on her. Asuka fired up and held Charlotte with her submission move but Charlotte broke it. Ripley hits the ring and wrecked both Asuka and Charlotte. She hits Charlotte with a suplex and got her pinned for 2 counts.
Asuka got control of the match and took out Charlotte with 2 German suplex. She delivered a sliding knee to Charlotte and covered her for 2 counts. Asuka toprope and hit Ripley with a dropkick. The brawl became more intense and Asuka & Ripley were sent out of the ring by Charlotte. Asuka and Ripley crushed Charlotte with a double superplex from the toprope and all the 3 women are down in the ring.
Asuka and Ripley conspired against Charlotte but their plans didn’t materialize and Charlotte overpowered them. The struggle for the victory continues until Charlotte got shoved out of the ring and Ripley delivered the Reptide on Asuka to pick the win.
Rhea Ripley def. Asuka and Charlotte flair via pinfall to retain the Raw Women’s Championship.
Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
Dominik was attacked backstage by Roode and Ziggler before their match officially kicked off in the ring and this made Dominik to stay backstage in order to receive medical treatment even after their match has started in the ring.
The match kicks off with Rey Mysterio against Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler in the ring while Dominik was absent and receiving medical support backstage. Rey Mysterio took control of the match as it starts. He decimated Roode in the ring, shoved out Ziggler and hit him with a sliding splash right outside the ring.
The match continued in the ring and Roode took Rey down with a clothesline. Rey Mysterio was severely and thoroughly punished by Ziggler and Roode. He tried his best possible to fight back but he was constantly overpowered by the Dirty Dawgs.
Rey Mysterio finally fired up and drived Ziggler and Roode with a shoulder force through the steel post. Dominik suddenly appeared and stood at the apron, ready to make a tag and support his dad in the struggle for victory.
Ziggler came from behind and connected Rey with the Zig Zag and covered him for 2 counts. They continued their competition in the ring and the Dirty Dawgs wrecked Rey Mysterio.
Rey eventually fired up and tagged Dominik into the ring. Dominik could not bring out the best in him due to the rib injury he suffered from the recent attack on him backstage. The Dirty Dawgs punished him in the ring but he recovered at the end and hit Ziggler with a superkick.
The match eventually ended as Rey hits Roode with a 619 and Dominik connected him with a massive forward splash from the top rope to secure the victory.
Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio def. Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler via pinfall to become the New SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
Lumberjack match- The Miz vs. Damian Priest.
The lumberjack match was a very hilarious one and the ring were surrounded by zombies instead of wrestlers.
The Miz was constantly distracted by the zombies and this made Damian Priest to take major control of the match. The Miz held Priest with his submission move but Priest survived it.
The zombies outside the ring continued to distract them and the match eventually ended in Damian standing tall as the winner after delivering Hit-the-Lights on The Miz.

Bianca Belair vs. Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Bianca took control of the match as it kicks off in the ring. Bianca built a huge momentum against Bayley with an incredible and fast athletic move. They took their brawl outside the ring and Bianca was still in charge until they got back into the ring again.
Bayley ignited and started dominating the match in the ring. Bianca tried to fight back but she was overpowered by a suplex from Bayley. Bianca eventually recovered and hits Bayley with a suplex right from the apron.
The match turns tragic for Binaca as Bayley crushed her on the steel step and connected her with the suplex outside the ring. Bayley dragged Bianca into the ring and brawl continued. Bayley smashed Bianca on the ring floor and covered her for 2 counts.
Bianca eventually fired up and pinned Bayley for 2 and half counts. Bayley overpowered Bianca again with a clothesline and toperope to hit her with a flying elbow. Bayley inserted her finger into Bianca’s eyes after distracting the referee and connected her with a belly-to-belly suplex but Bianca kicked out of 2 counts.
Bianca eventually struggled and gave in her best to successfully retain her Title by skillfully pinning Bayley for the 3 counts using her long hair as a weapon.

Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Championship
Braun Strowman took control the match at the early moments but he was overpowered and taken out when lashley hits him with a faceforce. Lashley and McIntyre connected Strowman with a double suplex.
MycIntre grabbed Lashley and hits him with a belly-to-belly suplex and the brawl continued outside the ring. Strowman toprope and hits Lashley and MycIntyre with a high dive outside the ring.
The match continues with Lashley and Strowman inside the ring but MycIntyre quickly came in when Lashley held Strowman with the Hurt Lock. Lashley took control of the match by driving out McIntyre from the ring and decimating Strowman inside the ring. Lashley got out of the ring and continued to brutally punish MycIntre.
Braun Strowman grabbed the steel step and wrecked Lashley with it from behind. Lashley fired up and took out Strowman, he then hits MycIntre with a suplex and continued to punish him at the ringside. MycIntyre and Lashley took their rivalry to the entrance and McIntyre drived him through the LED board.
Braun Strowman went to the entrance and take down MycIntre. He then dragged him into the ring to continued their match. MycIntyre crushed Strowman in the ring and covered him for 2 and half counts. They took their brawl to the ringside and MycIntre was powerbombed through the annouce table by Strowman when he attempted the Claymore on the Monster among Men.
The match continued inside the ring and MycIntyre hit Strowman with the Claymore but Lashley came from behind and dragged MycIntyre out of the ring. Lashley immediately delivered a massive spear on Strowman and successfully pinned him for the 1-2-3 counts to retain his Title.
Bobby Lashley def. Braun Strowman and MycIntyre via pinfall to retain the WWE Championship.
Main Event of WrestleMania Backlash
Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro for the Universal Championship.
The match begins and both men are building up powerful momentum and battling for supremacy in the ring. Cesaro took down Reigns with a shoulder attack and tried to skillfully pinned him but Reigns repelled it and rolled out of the ring.
Roman Reigns got back into the ring and he was overpowered by Cesaro. Reigns shoved Cesaro out of the ring and their brawl continues. Roman Reigns hit Cesaro with a suplex and covered him for 1 count. Reigns hit him with a high arm and covered him for another 1 count.
Roman Reigns attempted a superman punch but Cesaro countered it and hit him with a uppercut. Cesaro continued to dominate the match as he wrecks Reigns with a high dive and an uppercut outside the ring. He dragged Reigns and covered for 2 counts after delivering the cross body from the top rope inside the ring.
Reigns fired up by hitting Cesaro with a direct kick to the head and a uppercut. Reigns drived him through the steel step with a kick and dragged him into the ring. Reigns capitalized his attack on the injured arm of Cesaro and took him down, then covered him for 2 counts . Roman Reigns continued to have fun by decimating Cesaro and the Swiss Superman was stained with blood on different parts of his body.
Cesaro fired up and started fighting back with a clothesline on Reigns. He continued to take down the Tribal Chief with series of uppercut. He grabbed Reign at the apron and connected him with the superplex. Reigns hit him with a superman punch and covered him but Cesaro kicked out of 2 counts.
Roman Reigns held Cesaro with his submission move but Cesaro lifted him and smashed him on the floor. Cesaro decimated him and held him with the Crossface but Reign survied it. Reigns fired up again and finally held Cesaro with his submission move until the Swiss Superman faded and passed out then Roman Reigns won the match.
Roman Reigns def. Cesaro via submission to retain the Universal Championship.
Jey Uso hits the ring after the match ended and ordained Roman Reigns once again as the Tribal Cheif. He then went for Cesaro therefater and severely punished him.
Seth Rollins music hits and he head into the ring. He inflicted painful punishment on Cesaro and wrecked his arm with a steel chair to the steel post. Rollins delivered the Stomp on Cesaro at the ringside to end Wrestlemania Backlash.
