The 16-time WWE Champion, John Cena has signed the contract match against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam and this literally means that The Tribal Chief will defend his Universal Championship against John Cena at SummerSlam pay-per-view next month.

The initial match card for the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam was supposed to be Roman Reigns versus Finn Balor when the Tribal Chief accepted his challenge even though it not been made official. The match card changed last night as John Cena puts his signature on the Universal Championship Match Contract to challenge Roman Reigns at SummerSlam instead of Finn Balor.

Prior to the contract signing, John Cena was in the ring and he accused Roman Reigns of being scared to fail at SummerSlam by loosing the Universal Championship to him. Cena also connected Baron Corbin with the Attitude Adjustment in the ring when Corbin threw an insult at him by calling him a Hollywood sellout.

Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Finn Balor , Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville were all present in the ring when it was time for the contract signing. Reigns vowed to wreck Finn Balor and send him back to NXT if he signs the contract. Balor got the mic and said that it would be an honor if he returns to NXT once again as the Universal Champion.

When Finn Balor was about to sign the contract, Baron Corbin came from behind and brutally attacked him, he then sent Balor out of the ring and put him through the barricade before getting back into the ring. Corbin held the contract in a bit to sign it when he got back into the ring, but John Cena quickly ran into the ring and stopped him.

John Cena got into the ring, got his hands on Corbin and drove him into the ring post. He then held the contract and signed it to make the Universal Championship match to challenge Roman Reigns at SummerSlam official.

Catch up Roman Reigns versus John Cena for the Universal Championship and much more at SummerSlam pay-per-view on the 21st of August. It will available for live streaming on Peacock within the United and WWE Network elsewhere.
